Visit the Land of India’s Finest Fort
Chittorgarh, lying on the Berach River, is a historic city located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The history of Chittorgarh is an intriguing one; full of anecdotes and incidents. Legends say that Bhima, one of the five Pandavas, came here to become the disciple of a sage who could tell him the secrets to immortality. Chittorgarh is one such place in Rajasthan that has a number of forts and palaces with historical significance. Large numbers of tourists visit the city in order to get a glimpse of a number of attractions in the city. Another legendary name associated with its brave history is Rani Padmini, who committed Jauhar after the Sultan of Delhi, enamoured by her timeless beauty, captured the city. Four decades later, in 1568, Mughal Emperor Akbar attacked and seized the fort. It was finally in 1616, under the rule of Mughal Emperor Jahangir that the fort was returned to the Rajputs.
